Who performs the electrical work
Henry's Improvements is a registered New Jersey home improvement contractor — HIC Reg. #13VH10251400. We are the general contractor on your project. We are not an electrical contractor and we do not hold ourselves out as one.
All electrical work on our projects is performed by licensed New Jersey electrical contractors holding a current Electrical Contractor business permit issued by the State Board of Examiners of Electrical Contractors. They pull the electrical permit in their own name and carry their own insurance. The name and business permit number of the electrical contractor assigned to your project appears on your contract before any work begins.
Our job is scope, pricing, sequencing, inspection coordination, and making sure electrical lines up with every other trade on site — so you have one point of contact and no gaps between trades.
What we cover
Panel & Service Upgrades
New panels, sub-panels and dedicated circuits sized to what your space will actually draw — not what the last tenant drew. Service upgrades handled when existing capacity won't carry the build.
Fit-Out Rough-In & Finish
Full rough-in coordinated against your framing and mechanical schedule, then devices, fixtures, exit and emergency lighting, and final trim — sequenced so electrical inspection isn't what holds up your CO.
Three-Phase & Heavy Distribution
Three-phase service, switchgear, machine circuits and heavy sub-panel work for shops, commercial kitchens and light industrial space, with load calculations run before equipment is ordered.
EV Charging
Level 2 charging stations for commercial lots and multi-unit properties, sized against your existing panel capacity — including the service upgrade if the capacity isn't there yet.
Thermal Imaging & Load Diagnostics
Infrared scanning of panels, breakers and connections to find hot spots before they take a circuit offline. Worth running before you buy a building, and worth repeating annually once you own it.
Lighting, Outlets & Repairs
Commercial and high-bay LED conversions, recessed and fixture layouts, GFCI outlets, dimmers, dedicated appliance lines, and troubleshooting on circuits that keep tripping.
How electrical runs on our projects
Scope and load review
Before we price the build, we walk the space with our electrical contractor and confirm what your existing service can carry against what your layout and equipment will actually demand. Capacity surprises are the single most expensive thing we find late in a job, so we find them first.
Permits filed under the right license
Your electrical permit is pulled by the licensed electrical contractor, under their own business permit number. Construction permits are filed under our HIC registration. Two separate filings, both handled correctly, so nothing stalls at the municipal counter.
Rough-in on your schedule
Electrical is sequenced against framing, plumbing and HVAC so trades aren't standing around waiting on each other. If you're staying open during construction, we phase the work around your hours and your customers.
Inspection and closeout
We coordinate inspections, handle any corrections directly with the inspector and the electrical contractor, and walk the finished system with you — panel labeling, circuit directory, warranty documentation — before we hand the space back.
