NJ HIC #13VH10251400 Licensed electrical contractors One point of contact

Who Does the Work

We’re the GC. Licensed Electricians Do the Wiring.

Henry’s Improvements is a registered NJ home improvement contractor (HIC #13VH10251400) and the general contractor on your project. We are not an electrical contractor. All electrical work is done by licensed NJ electrical contractors who pull the electrical permit in their own name and carry their own insurance. Their name and license number are on your contract before any work starts.

Our job: scope, pricing, scheduling, inspections, and making sure electrical lines up with every other trade, so you have one point of contact.

What We Cover

Panel & Service Upgrades

New panels, sub-panels and dedicated circuits sized to what your space will actually draw, not what the last tenant drew. Service upgrades when the existing capacity can’t carry the build.

Fit-Out Rough-In & Finish

Rough-in timed with your framing and mechanicals, then devices, fixtures, exit and emergency lighting and final trim, so electrical isn’t what holds up your CO.

Three-Phase & Heavy Equipment

Three-phase service, machine circuits and heavy sub-panels for shops, commercial kitchens and light industrial space, with load calculations done before equipment is ordered.

EV Charging

Level 2 chargers for commercial lots and multi-unit properties, sized against your panel, including the service upgrade if the capacity isn’t there yet.

Thermal Scans & Load Checks

Infrared scans of panels, breakers and connections to find hot spots before they take a circuit down. Smart before you buy a building, and once a year after.

Lighting, Outlets & Repairs

LED and high-bay conversions, recessed and fixture layouts, GFCI outlets, dimmers, dedicated appliance lines, and fixing circuits that keep tripping.

Spaces We Work In

Retail & Restaurants

Store and restaurant build-outs, kitchen equipment circuits and hood power, phased around your opening date.

Offices & Medical

Office and clinic fit-outs with dedicated equipment lines, data-ready layouts and emergency lighting.

Multi-Unit & Landlords

Meter and panel upgrades, common-area lighting, EV chargers and repairs between tenants.

Shops & Light Industrial

Three-phase power, machine circuits and high-bay lighting for workshops and warehouse space.

How It Works

01 Step One

Scope & Load Review

Before we price the job, we walk the space with our electrical contractor and check what your existing service can carry against what your layout and equipment will need. Running short on capacity is the most expensive thing to find late, so we find it first.

02 Step Two

Permits Under the Right License

The electrical permit is pulled by the licensed electrical contractor under their own license. Building permits go under our HIC registration. Two separate filings, both done right, so nothing stalls at the town.

03 Step Three

Rough-In on Your Schedule

Electrical is timed with framing, plumbing and HVAC so trades aren’t waiting on each other. If you’re staying open during construction, we phase the work around your hours and customers.

04 Step Four

Inspection & Closeout

We schedule the inspections, handle any corrections with the inspector and the electrician, and walk the finished system with you before we hand the space back.

Good to Know

Are you an electrical contractor?

No. We’re the general contractor. The electrical work is done by licensed NJ electrical contractors under their own license and permits. We manage the scope, schedule and inspections so you deal with one company.

Do I need a service upgrade?

It depends on what the space has now and what you’re adding: kitchen equipment, HVAC, EV chargers or machinery. The load review in step one answers that before you get a price, not halfway through the job.

Can you work while my business stays open?

Yes. We can phase the work and schedule shutdowns around your hours so you can keep serving customers.

Where do you do commercial work?

Commercial projects across New Jersey. Tell us the address and we’ll confirm we can take it on.

Can you just do electrical, without a full renovation?

Yes. Panel upgrades, EV chargers, lighting conversions and repairs can be booked on their own. Tell us what you need and we’ll set up a walkthrough.
